Instruction: Shay offers instruction to all levels and ages, having taught students aged five to forty-five. His teaching approach/philosophy combines traditional and modern approaches. Although lessons are geared toward the individual, with an emphasis on the styles of music that interest the student, all students will study and cover all of the following subjects: metronome/click track skills reading counting while playing (increases awareness, coordination, and ability to sing while playing) dynamics rudiments and technique pacing of dynamics and energy limb independence stylistic awareness References are available upon request.
